Ted" Holmes, 76, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, in Vanderbilt University Medical Center.Ted was born June 6, 1940, in Herrin, to the late Edward Cornelius and Alice Lillian (Manning) Holmes. Ted was raised in Carterville, was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and a graduate of the National War College. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 33 years of service earning the rank of Colonel. Ted served in the Indiana National Guard and was a liaison recruiter to the Air Force Academy. Ted retired from Whirlpool after 30 years of service as a Computer Systems Analyst.He was a member of First Christian Church, Owls Nest 30, Riverbend Association, and the American Legion Funkhouser Post 8. Ted was a sports enthusiast and an avid Cardinals fan. He was an avid reader and loved studying World War II history. Ted loved music and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.Ted is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruby (Yates) Holmes of Evansville, Indiana; daughter, Stephanie Wooten (Joseph) of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Edward "Ted" Holmes (Rebecca) of Evansville, Indiana; sister, Nancy Holmes; brother, Robert Holmes, M.D. (Sharon) of Carterville; sister-in-law, Suellen Hock of Marion; brother-in-law, Tony Morgan of Hurst; grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Lusher, Bradley and Blake Holmes and Justice and Jessie Wooten.Ted was preceded in death by his parents.Celebration of Ted's life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, in Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Jerry Clark officiating. Greg was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to A.L. 'Bud' and Clarice Heinrich on March 16, 1954. He grew up in the heart of Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1972.Greg had a successful career as a Consulting Appraiser for the Idaho State Tax Commission for 16 years. He served in this position from 2000 until he retired in April of 2016. Prior to these sixteen years he served in many other positions as an appraiser and as the Jerome County Assessor for many years. He had a love/hate relationship with his career, but he did love the people and the opportunities it provided for him.Greg lived an active life full of camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling and going to BSU football games with his beloved wife, Patty. He loved the outdoors and loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and his cat, BobbiSue. Greg was known for being witty, and speaking his mind when needed. He loved gardening, canning and preparing meals for those he loved and was always up for visitors. Greg especially enjoyed staying connected with family and friends through Facebook.Greg was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. 'Bud' and Clarice Heinrich, and his wife, Patty Bauscher. He is survived by his two brothers and one sister; Mike (Peggy) Heinrich of San Jose, California, Steve (Donna) Heinrich of Meridian and Pam (Brent) Watterud of Milwaukie, Oregon.Greg is also survived by his five children; Jenny (Mike) Souto of Bayport, New York, Terry Falter of Nampa, Idaho, Eric (Jenny) Whitmore of Twin Falls, Idaho Christie (Wyatt) Prescott of Belluvue, Idaho and Mike (Kelly) Bauscher of Boise, Idaho and his eight grandchildren, Kayli, Logan, Aubrey, Gavin, Gus, Katie, Agnes and Ame. James LeRoy Bye, Sr., 72, of rural Mitchell, Neb., died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at his home. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tom Harves officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mitchell Ambulance Service or the VA. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com.James was born Sept. 28, 1944 at Sidney, Neb. to Shurban and Sylvia (Ward) Bye. In 1949 his family moved to Mitchell where James received his early education. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 and did a tour of duty in Vietnam before returning home and receiving an honorable discharge in 1969. James worked for Goshen County schools as a bus driver, maintenance man, and janitor in Fort Laramie. He later moved to Texas where he attended Kilgore College and received his GED and a degree in jewelry making and watch and clock repair. He was proud to say he was the only one of his family to go to college and he enjoyed it greatly. He returned to Mitchell in 1993 and worked for Carl Thomas as a farmhand until 1996 when he went to work for M. Gompert Farms until his retirement in 2003. James enjoyed many handcrafting projects in his retirement.
